Jesus frequently went on retreats to be alone with God. My expereince with taking the time to go on retreat has been so beneficial to my spiritual growth, that I believe everyone needs to follow this model of Jesus and regularly attend a retreat. The change of pace, place, and perspective at a retreat produces an opportunity that opens up our hearts for the Spirit to nourish our souls.
Retreats come in a wide variety of formats and it is stimulating to try all the various types. Retreats can be made at home, at a daylong presentation with a group, or at a retreat center. Presentations may follow a theme or one could try an individual retreat conducted in silence and/or meeting with a spiritual director.
If your group is looking for a retreat speaker, I am available. Several of my past presentations - either day long or weekend long have been:
Cup of Life - the cup has been for many people a symbol of inner growth and the spiritual journey. In the cup, one can see life - with its emptiness, fullness, brokenness, flaws, and blessings.
Chocolate - the Decadent and Divine Delight - learn more about the lessons in the lore and love of Chocolate. A fun and inspirational message.
Spiritual Autobiography - Who am I? How do I fit into God's plan? A reflective and educational presentation on discovering ourselves as God's children
Check out my speaking web page for addtional ideas that could be presented at a retreat.
